The Dixie Broads

The Dixie Broads look like they are making a comeback.

Now, everyone calls them the Dixie Chicks. However, calling them that terms is disrepectful toward the term chick (which means a young women - with undertones of an attractive young woman). Yes, they have denounced America - but then again, Dixie itself is the volk that denounced America with a Civil War. The American Civil War, you see, was all over a bunch of Democrats having a fit that a Republican was in the White House. Hmmm...sounds like the Dixie Broads.

Now, their album is a top seller. But I doubt that is because people who hate America are buying the album due to the sound of it. They probably will stop when they actually listen to the melody. People have different melodiac tastes. That is why, despite my attachment to right wing ideas, I never buy country music - instead, I buy metal - preferably old school metal - even if the noise disguises a bunch of anti-American rants. That is my taste. And leftists have their own tastes, too, which may not be in line with what the Dixie Broads do. Even though their album is a top seller, they are having to perform in smaller venues, and maybe have some cancellations.

The Dixie Broads supposedly changed their style. I don't know, because I am not going to take the time to listen to the old style and compare it to the new. Changing styles is the death wish of any artist. Fans get used to one style, and once you get something going, you cannot change without alienating your fan base. And, you will not be able to get new fans. So, even if leftists love their anti-American rants, if they do not like the sound, they will soon tire of it - there are plenty of other artists out there who do anti-American rants that are similar to their own sound. And they do not have the time or money to buy sounds they do not like - even if within their own ideological beliefs.

So what was the mistake of these bitches? They suddenly made some anti-American speech - in some furrin country. It's not their left-wing ideology. Despite the right-wing reputation, there is room for left-wing ideology in country music - think Willie Nelson. He is well known to be a leftist - in fact, he was one of the top entertainers to support Dennis Kucinich. And, he was once one of the top country entertainers - if he wanted to perform, he would still get large audiences, even if it was largely attended by conservatives. His problem was that he just got too old for his audience. But then again, he is much more intelligent in how he couches his beliefs - and he used his left wing belief system to have concerts to help farmers keep their farms. Thus, many farmers better support him out of gratitude. If he denounces any war, it is in terms like "war is bad, death is bad, etc. etc." not "I'm embarred our President is from Texas."

So, despite a hot selling album, I would say it's more along the lines of The Satanic Verses, and not The DaVinci Code. I read both. Actually, I attempted to read The Satanic Verses. But it was so poorly written, I couldn't get past the third chapter. On the other hand, The DaVinci Code is well-written and easy (and entertaining to read) - despite the fact it is bunk and I disagree with it. People have been attracted to both books due to the controversies surrounding them. But if it the artwork is bad to begin with, then there is no return to it. And I suspect that many people are buying the Broads' album out of anti-American solidarity, but will find the sound annoying, and not buy the follow up.

Thus, due to their poor album sales and deservedly collapsing support, I predict that in a few years, these pieces of white trash will probably be serving eggs in some cafe in West Virginia fighting over who will be sleeping with the smelly, overweight, unemployed and unemployable drunken former miner who goes there. I suggest that if they do need to find work here, they all find someone to get them good wigs. And stop denouncing America.
